My projects focus on environmental issues, focusing in particular on historical and cultural sites in Dublin. My practice incorporates studio-based photographic work but also sculptural interventions which are made in order to be photographed. I design and produce handmade books.
Cataclysm
Plastic products are all around us in everyday use, versatile and relatively inexpensive. That is why we use so much plastic and we over-consume it globally. Like the fossilised insects in amber resin from millions of years ago, my man-made resin casts contain detritus and fragments of plastic waste washed up on Sandymount Strand. They represent what the future might look like, when the long- term effects of plastic pollution are found in thousands of years to come.
