Lucia Rigney

In my project 'Chromatic Botanica' I strive to explore the intersection of art, technology, and nature, seeking to push the boundaries of conventional photography. Drawing inspiration from experimental photography I experiment with colour manipulation to create vibrant and surreal imagery. Through this work, I aim to challenge conventional perceptions of nature and inspire curiosity about the world around us. My practice is constantly evolving, driven by a passion for experimentation and subjects that interest me.

Chromatic Botanica

The combination of art and technology continues to broaden our understanding of creativity and expression in this era of rapid technological advancements. Using creative colour manipulation, I have reimagined the inherent beauty of nature in a vibrant way for my photographs. The project seeks to produce unusual and captivating images that contradict traditional representations of plant imagery, exploring the uniqueness of vibrant botanica. With each photograph displaying the transformative power of colour, viewers are given a vivid perspective on the vast intricacies of the natural world. Chromatic Botanica challenges beliefs about nature, prompting viewers to consider their connection to the environment and how creative interpretation shapes our understanding of it. It explores the limits of colour alteration and embraces the unpredictable nature of experimental approaches, offering a viewpoint on the interplay between art, technology, and the natural world. It aims to start a conversation on the beauty and complexity of these unconscious optics, enabling the viewer to immerse themselves in unusual floral pictures.
