From Private to Public

From Private to Public is a documentary photo project about public parks/spaces around Dublin, exploring the spaces themselves along with the history behind them. Figuring out the initial uses and ownership of the spaces along with when the change of ownership happened, either being gifted to County Council’s or bought by the council’s to be used as public parks for people to enjoy. Relying on the relationship between image and text to provide context to the images with small pieces of text under the images with a brief history of the space and ownership.

Flying Piece of Plastic

This project is about Ultimate Frisbee in TUD, the images made in the project timeline are of the ultimate frisbee team here in the university taken during trainings on Monday and Thursday evenings throughout term time. They were all shot on the pitches that are available at the university. I decided to go down this route with the project as ultimate frisbee is something that has been a large part of my life for the last ten years and something I find a bit difficult to explain to people who have never heard of the sport before. I am hoping with the images made in this project they give a little bit of insight into how the sport works and the physical nature of the ultimate frisbee world.
